About The Tallahassee Comets

The Tallahassee Comets are members of the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) and Youth Basketball of America (YBOA). The AAU is one of the largest, non-profit, volunteer, sports organizations in the United States. Both organizations are dedicated exclusively to the promotion and development of amateur sports and physical fitness programs. The AAU & YBOA provide registered members with insurance and access to AAU & YBOA organized and sanctioned events.

The Tallahassee Comets were incorporated as a non-profit corporation on April 10, 2000. The Board of Directors are subject to the by-laws of the corporation and have full control and management of the affairs of the Comets; have the power and authority to adopt or amend by-laws, policy, guidelines, or procedures of the Comets; appoint coaches for all teams; and handle all operations of the corporation.
