Tallahassee Florida High turned up the heat against host Forest in the
14th Annual Don Kelso State Farm Insurance/Closet Maid Lady Cat Holiday
Basketball Tournament.
The Seminoles forced 42 turnovers and built a big lead early on their way
to a 60-26 win over the Wildcats in the championship semifinals of the
tournament.
With the win, Florida High advances into the championship semifinals at
7:30 on Monday night against Class 4A's top-ranked team, Winter Haven.
The loss drops Forest (4-7) into the second consolation bracket at 4 p.m.
on Monday against Miami Pace.
"We did some good things and I thought we were more aggressive as
the game went on," Wildcats coach Matt Koff said.
The Seminoles (10-3) raced out to an 11-0 lead and had a 13-1 edge in
shots attempted by the time Forest's Sarah McKeever scored her team's
first basket 5:39 into the contest.
Myah Clayton led Florida High with 12 points and Tiffany Hicks added 11.
Dominec Stocker paced Forest with 11 points and 12 rebounds.
