Open Letter From the Board of Directors
Dear Players and Parents (Prospective & Returning):
The Tallahassee Comets are delighted your
family is interested in being a part of the Tallahassee Comets Girls Basketball Program.
Our mission is to build the individual character of each member, to blend team members into a harmonious
and successful unit, and to optimize both personal and team potential. A particularly important part of our
mission is to prepare each team member to use their talents to achieve scholarships so that they may attain
a higher education. Until recently, there were few opportunities in North Florida for young ladies to participate in basketball
programs sanctioned by national basketball associations, such as the
Amateur Athletic Union (AAU)
and
Youth Basketball of America (YBOA).
However, the number of teams and tournaments available in the state
has increased dramatically over the past few years. We are finding that AAU and YBOA are not only highly respected
by the Florida High School Athletic Association, but they are also endorsed by the
Women’s Basketball Coach’s Association
(WBCA).
The Tallahassee Comets has helped bring much-needed recognition to young ladies in the North Florida area.
As
a result we feel that major colleges and universities will increase the number of full scholarships offered to
young ladies from this area. Click

Competition at this level demands skill, dedication, and commitment, from both the players and the parents. If
you feel that you fit the parent and player guidelines of our organization, that you agree with our philosophy and would like to be a part of the Tallahassee
Comets program, please feel free to e-mail us at hoops@cometsget.net.
Go Comets, Robert Robert
