High School Career

Statistics:  12PPG, 10RPG, 2APG, 3SPG, 49%FG, 34% 3PT and 67%FT.  High School Coach:  Aaron Krause,  aaronkrause@nflchurch.com, cell# 850-386-6327 ext. #157 and Cell #850-556-1393.   Coach Krause comments:  Melanie Warner has played the post position for the past 2 years. She is an upcoming Junior that has great potential. She has many post skills that include handling the ball, different moves under the basket, and bigger body for positioning to get rebounds. She also is deceptively fast for her position and runs the floor well. She has a few years of experience under her belt and will continue to improve over the next 3 years. Melanie also holds a high GPA and is not a liability off of the court. Melanie has a great personality and gets along well with her teammates. She also will be a great asset to many programs.

Melanie Warner is a very versatile player. She is the leading scorer and rebounder in school history going into her senior year. Melanie can bring the ball up the floor, attack the basket, post up and shoot from the outside. Melanie has always demonstrated the will to win and is very capable of finding ways to put her team in that position. She was named to the 1st team all big bend player and followed it up by being named to the State Finals all-star team. Melanie has a great work ethic and demonstrates a high level of character off of the floor while maintaining a high GPA.

NFC 2006 & 2007 Class 2A Runner-Up.  2007 FHSAA Finals stats, semi-finals and finals.  Selected to FHSAA All Tournament Team, by averaging 21PPG and 12RPG.

AAU/YBOA Career

Statistics:  20PPG, 14RPG and 5APG.  AAU/YBOA Coach:  Rob Hicks, hicksrob@comcast.net and cell# 850-559-1351.  Comments:  Melanie has always played up with her Comets teams and she's a leader of the NFC team that made it to the State Championship game. She has 3-point range and is an excellent ball handler for her size, she is better with her man-to-man defensive skills and has learned to utilize her size to her advantage. She plays the post in high school but plays the power forward for Comets and some 3, which blew her game up this 2007!  Virtually unstoppable at those positions with her size and athletic ability.

Melanie performed extremely well at the Adidas Showtime Championships in Atlanta and at the River City Class in Memphis where she was selected as the MVP of the Blue Bracket.  She played three positions and averaged a high double-double each game.
