Rising Stars Evaluation & Exposure Camp The Rising Stars Camp was held on September 24th, 2005 in Tallahassee, Florida at Florida State University (Tully Gym). The Rising Stars Camp showcased over 60 female student-athletes from Florida and Georgia! The following student-athletes represented the best players participating in the camp:
Mikki Clayton a 5'6" Jr. guard from North Florida Christian School (Tallahassee, FL) - Tallahassee Comets and Juliemay Syquio a 5'7" Jr. guard from Wolfson High School (Jacksonville, FL) - Team BALL, both had quite a camp! Both players were name Co-MVP's and were impressive. Mikki averaged 10 points per game and Juliemay averaged 11 points per game. Both players played "hard" on both ends of the floor and not afraid to scramble for the loose ball and defend any and all players! Mikki is a true point guard that can score at will with the jumper or penetrating to the hole and Juliemay plays the 1 or 2 scoring freely inside or out and both players have 3-point range. Its not practical to mention every player here, but camp staff were impressed with a number of players. Rising Stars "Seniors, Class of 2006" like Kristina Darby, Dana Esposito, Tambrika Flowers, Natasha Gray, Brittany Hudson, Morgan King and Kristen Ledlow. The "Juniors, Class of 2007" is solid with Megan Bacher, Rachel Blum, Mikki Clayton, Devan Moore, Alyssa Patterson and Juliemay Syquio. Lastly, the underclassmen included some of the best young rising stars with Aisha Gillis, Briana Gray, Jasmine Grice, Domarnique Moore, Samantha Phillips, Ashlee Stephens and Melanie Warner. A copy of the coaches' recruiters guide will be provided to all college coaches. While the camp staff was pleased with this year’s camp, every effort will be made to improve the camp next year and we thank all student-athletes for their participation!
