Rising Stars Evaluation & Exposure Camp

The Rising Stars Camp was held on September 5th, 2009 in Tallahassee, Florida at Bethel Family Life Center.  The Rising Stars Camp showcased female student-athletes from the North Florida area with an opportunity for personalized individual skill development and evaluation.

Coach Brittany Loney states that the, "Rising Stars Camp was successful in teaching the girls unique drills designed to enhance their fundamentals in a way that they could practice them on their own. The campers worked extremely hard throughout camp and had a great time doing so. This should in turn enhance their motivation to incorporate the drills and techniques into their individual practices. Mastering the fundamentals helps make the more complex and tactical skills easier to learn and helps them focus on the important cues during competition."  Rising Stars Campers Hallie Troell and Precious Hall were recognized as outstanding campers with a YBOA gym bag.  All Rising Stars campers received t-shirts and YBOA basketballs to aid in their practice at home to further develop fundamental basketball skills.  Assisting Coach Loney were Tallahassee Comets alumni Mikki Clayton (Hampton University), Brittany Christie (Tallahassee Community College) and Aneka Tucker (North Florida Community College).
