She has excellent court vision and is a very athletic court player. Samantha also has the ability to bang underneath the boards and not be pushed around very easily. A few more years of hard work and development will make Samantha a great asset to many programs.

Samantha Phillips is a very creative player and has an excellent view of the floor. She is able to take over the game when she chooses and also open up the floor for other players. She has a keen sense of being able to find players in the right position and deliver the ball to them. She also is a good outside shooter. She served as a team co captain nominated by the players on her team. Samantha was named to the All Big Bend 2nd team and is currently the 2nd leading scorer in school history going into her senior year.

She was once a point guard but she has outgrown the position now. She needs to run the floor better but rebounds well for her size. She plays with a lot of heart and is another lady within our program that is playing above her age group by 2 years. Samantha is an excellent free-throw shooter and is an excellent competitor.

Sam has become a more consistent perimeter shooter and was the key perimeter shooter on North Florida Christian School's team that advanced to the AA State Championship game.  She needs more work on left hand and on her man-2-man defense, plays hard and comes to compete every night, 3-point range keeps increasing as she can shoot it 3-4 feet behind the 3-point line, will post up and is not afraid of playing physical. She is a sophomore who is “playing up” but is worth keeping an eye on!

Sam excelled in the month of July performing at a very high level against some of the best national competition at the Adidas Showtime Championships in Atlanta and at the River City Class in Memphis where she was selected as to the All Tournament Team.
