High School Career

Statistics:  21PPG, 5RPG, 7APG and 3SPG.  High School Coach:  Coach Chris Obert, gump32420@yahoo.com and 850-573-0562.  Comments.  Shaunte has been playing varsity basketball since the 7th grade. She has been a key component of her team's success, as she has been the floor leader since she began playing. She handles the ball well, while also being a very good shooter. She has a nice touch from the 3-point line, as well as in her midrange game. She also finishes around the bucket well which makes her an effective scorer from the point guard position. Offensively, I feel as if her greatest asset is her court vision and her ability to get others involved. Even though she was our leading scorer her sophomore year, she was also the team leader in assists. Defensively she is a sound defender that understands positioning well, but her anticipation on the defensive end is her strongest asset on the defensive end. Her anticipation allows her to get many steals which in turn, helps kick start the transition game which she is very comfortable with.

AAU/YBOA Career

Statistics:  14PPG, 4RPG and 5APG.  AAAU/YBOA Coach:  Rob Hicks, hicksrob@comcast.net and cell# 850-559-1351.  Comments:  Shaunte projects as scoring point guard at the next level – unselfish, as she has played point most of her high school career – more of a spot shooter but with excellent range – has the ability to shoot it deep and stretches most zone defenses – penetrates and does so to score and set up others – works and practices hard as she gives maximum effort everyday – will continue to get better.  She's a shooter and scorer who can get to the basket at will.  Shaunte plays point guard for her high school team and can play both guard positions.  She's a competitor that doesn't quit during the game and finishes at the basket.  Heart of lion in being a very competitive player.

PEACH STATE All Southeast Showcase (October 5th, 2008):  Shaunte has fully recovered from an angle fracture that occurred at the Mike White July '08 event.  She's playing with full confidence and continues to be an unselfish player.  She will be a great addition to a women basketball program and will benefit from her leadership skills.  Shaunte still plays the 1 and 2 guard position, but continues to be an ideal point guard that sees the floor well, has a short & long range jumper (including the 3-pt) and can penetrate and finish to the basket.  Projected All Big Bend First Team.
